Pastors’ Conference – Leadership Seminar

Living Spring Faith Ministries will be hosting a conference for local Cape Town area pastors.  On Friday and Saturday , March 14 and 15, as many as 30 pastors will be coming from all over the Cape Town area including the townships of Mfuleni, Delft, Green Park, Khayelitsha and Phillippi. The goal is improving leadership skills and being effective spiritual leaders within their own congregations and community.  The keynote speaker for the conference is Pastor Vernon Dean, Senior Pastor of Christian Assembly Church in Vienna, Virginia USA.  On Saturday morning, his wife Ruth Ann will minister to the pastors’ wives.

Please keep this important event in your prayers.  Pray that God will empower and equip these pastors to reach many with the good news of Jesus Christ.
GOOD REPORTS FROM THE TIME OF
PRAYER AND FASTING

LSFM church in Cape Town embarked on a 7 days long fasting and prayer as a start for the New Year 2010.  Having started from December 31st through January 7th, we were thrilled that most of our congregation participated in various ways.  We as a church felt lead to do this to not only prepare spiritually for the year ahead but also to seek God’s face concerning His vision and purpose for us as a church in 2010

There were times of co-corporate prayer which resulted in a unified sense of what God will do in us and among us this year. Collectively we believe that this year will be a year of financial breakthroughs in not only jobs and money, but also a releasing from a poverty mentality.  This would be a year of increased giving and a self-sustained church body.  Isaiah 60:19-20 spoke of trusting God’s glory to bring hope and Haggai 2:6-9 refers to the building up of the community instead of self-focused interest.  Amazingly there were also personal miracles, healing, and breakthroughs.

  • Healing: A church member who had been on medication for more than 5 years for an ulcer received healing during the fasting and prayer week. She is off medication and doing great God is good!
  • Transport:  In the townships most people use costly and unreliable transport.  God spoke to us about His abundance blessing: specifically for cars of church members. On the 2nd day of our fast, one of our young working adults was able to put payment down on a great car! The next Sunday she testified and even helped transport people to church.  God is a provider.
  • A Raise - The newly married couple – James and Zandiswa were asking the Lord for His blessings for them as a family during the fasting and prayer time.  A week after we finished, James got a 30% increase in wages/
  • 1st family member to attend college - A young member of our church testified that even though NO ONE in her family has gone beyond Std.9 (8th grade), she was trusting God to get out of the cycle of educational failure. She passed here final year, had excellent exam results, and was accepted by University of Western Cape to study Social Work.  When she prayed because she didn’t have money for registration and tuition, her grandmother’s boss heard about her story and decided to sponsor her first year of university.

Isn’t God great?  More is still to come….
